A Note from USEE's Executive Director

Dear Utah Environmental Education Friends and Supporters,

Over the past four years I have had the privilege of working with many of you to elevate the field of environmental education in Utah. It has been a joy to see what we can accomplish when we are working together to ensure that all Utahns have access to meaningful, nature-based opportunities.

When I started at USEE in early 2018 my first goal was to ensure that USEE was a stable and functioning organization. What we’ve been able to accomplish beyond that has been astounding. From developing new and meaningful partnerships, bringing on more staff, developing an environmental literacy plan, the thing that has been at the center of all of this work is USEE’s commitment to being a community-based organization, putting Utah’s environmental and outdoor educators at the center of our work. USEE simply would not be what it is without all of you. I am so thankful to have had this incredible opportunity to learn and grow along with you.

Along with growing our budget and capacity, we have a new mission, vision, branding and website. We are on the cusp of launching new programs to serve our community. USEE is in a strong position and is set to thrive in the coming years.

I am proud of what has been accomplished at USEE, and the work isn’t done yet. I deeply believe in USEE’s mission and vision and I’m the leader I am today because of my involvement with USEE at different points in my career. I’ve decided that it’s time for me to move on and welcome USEE’s next leader who can continue the work of this incredible organization.

I am delighted to share that USEE’s Board of Directors has planned a thoughtful transition and hiring process for its next Executive Director. Please stay tuned for more information about the job description and how to apply.

Finally, I’d like to express my gratitude to each and every one of you who have contributed to USEE over the past 41 years. This organization would not exist without your commitment and enthusiasm for environmental education and I can’t wait to see what comes next. My last day will be June 17th. Please feel free to reach out to with any questions.
