Environmental Justice

Environmental justice emphasizes the fair treatment and involvement of all people with respect to the development, implementation, and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations, and policies.

The primary goals of the Rose Park Environmental Justice Project have been similarly aligned - to identify the environmental concerns of Rose Park area residents and, utilizing their suggestions, to deliver information and resources that effectively reduce such threats at the community level.  And while policy changes may be beyond the scope of this project, the first step has always been to identify the problem.

The priority environmental concerns identified by local residents include issues related to air quality, water, and litter and waste.  For more information on these issues, other useful resources, and ways that you can contribute, please explore the subsequent links.
