It’s a group effort... With so many environmental threats to our water supplies, it’s important that we all do our part to preserve the natural qualities of our rivers and streams, like the Jordan River.
In Salt Lake City, there are several groups that have a hand in water protection and conservation. Below you will find several resources with more information and links to the websites of organizations actively working on the issues.
Groups working on our water:

The Utah Rivers Council is a grassroots organization dedicated to the conservation and stewardship of Utah’s rivers. This is achieved through grassroots organizing, direct advocacy, research, education, community leadership and litigation.
Blueprint Jordan River goals emphasize coordination of local planning efforts, a partnership among the jurisdictions bordering the Jordan River, as well as the opportunity for public participation to generate new ideas and test existing ideas for the long-term future of the river corridor.
The Commission is comprised of a mix of governmental and non-governmental members working together to enhance, preserve, protect, and responsibly develop the river corridor. They serve as a technical resource to local communities and are involved in the implementation of Blueprint Jordan River.
