To ensure USEE staff understand the dilemmas faced by those providing environmental education in the field, we "keep our hands dirty" by working with students and teachers. In other words, we walk our talk by facilitating activities for students and teachers as well as by serving on leadership teams for teacher training workshops.
Annual EE Awards Program
Each year USEE recognizes those who have made significant contributions to environmental education in Utah. The EE Awards are announced at a banquet that is held in conjunction with the Annual Utah EE Conference.
Annual Utah EE Conference
USEE's Annual Utah EE Conference provides educators with an opportunity to improve their skills, discover materials and resources, and network with others interested in environmental education throughout the state of Utah.
Burning Issues Workshops
USEE received a grant from PLT (Project Learning Tree) to conduct workshops in the training of the interactive CD-ROM Burning Issues produced by the BLM. The focus of the CD is on Fire Education. For more information please email

Great Basin Earth Institute
The Great Basin Earth Institute's (GBEI) mission is to enable individuals to examine their values and habits, and take responsibility for the Earth. GBEI reaches an adult audience by offering discussion courses on Deep Ecology, Voluntary Simplicity, Choices for Sustainable Living, and Sense of Place. GBEI endorses a method of learning consistent with EE. USEE serves as a host for this program.
