Wetlands have a bounty of plants for a variety of applications including medicines, fiber, dyes, spiritual, and tools for many uses. We will explore the local wetlands for plants used by the indigenous people and pioneers and actually craft some items such as miniature boats and ducks from bulrush, and cordage from milkweed and dogbane fiber. Stories of plants from local tribes and pioneers will be included. The fieldtrip will be outdoors, so dress accordinglyhat, sunscreen, comfort.

Canoeing in Cutler Marsh
Join us for a canoe trip in the wetland maze at Cutler Marsh. Enjoy some birding, dabble in water quality testing, take a look at the aquatic invertebrates living there, or just make a cattail duck to fl oat along with your canoe. We will have limited space for this workshop, so please RSVP by calling (801)328-1549.
